Sunset Beach Family Maternity Photos| 30A Florida
My family loves traveling with other families and for the second year in a row we ventured down to 30A, Santa Rosa Beach in Florida with dear friends of ours. The biggest difference from last years trip to this year was that our friends are expecting a baby and of course I insisted on doing some family/maternity photos on the beach at sunset. I don’t know about you who is reading this, but I am ready for bed early. Like 8pm. Sunset is 9pm in June, and on the beach it is truly 9pm because you watch the sunset over the horizon as opposed to a tree line or buildings, etc. Luckily even with being after mine (and this families) bedtime, everyone adventured down to the beach and was in happy spirits. Can’t wait to meet the newest addition this fall.
Homestead Family Maternity Photos | Utica, Ohio
The M Family wanted the homestead vibe for their summer sunset family photos celebrating the newest addition on the way. There is something very pulling about being barefoot in the grass and spending time with the ones closest to you. I loved the usage of our evening spent with some planned activity of hanging laundry but then roaming the property hand in hand with lots of hugs and laughs. Very excited for this family in the coming weeks to be a family of six.
Playful Family Photos | B Family | Mount Vernon, Ohio
The Baker family always bring their own fun things to do in their time in front of the camera and its usually activated that are a part of their real daily lives and this is an excellent example with their imaginative play toys. This brought laughter, fun and color to this already easy to photograph family. Would you believe this was all captured in 15 minutes during a mini session at my favorite studio, Miller Manor in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The bed scene was dedicated to my Mothers Day minis and I couldn’t be happier with the florals by Jess Lauren Florals.
My Outdoor Winter Family Photos | Alum Creek Beach, Ohio
I was inspired by my jacket. Thats where the whole idea came from. I've been know for being a hoarder of all jackets, coats, anything that layers really. Layers are your best friend in photos. They add movement, interest and texture to a simple palette. I decided for the first time to run with my love of coats and layers and went casual. Truth- I’ve never worn jeans in a photo session. Im so glad I did and overall just loved how the neutral layered outfits came together for our annual family photos. Thank you so much to my photographer friend- Judith Madrid for meeting us at the beach on a cold day.
Edits by yours truly.
In Home Family of Seven Newborn Photos in Granville Ohio | Baby N
I was so excited when Lindsay from Buffalo Rome Co reached out to inquire for photos revolving around her pregnancy. Her beautiful neutral home made for a calm and inviting environment. Her family is so easy to photograph and it was fun to go a little outside of the box with some of their posing and use of the home for capturing them all together as a family of seven.
In Home Newborn Photos in Central Ohio | Baby Mabel
My dear mama and photographer friend Madeline welcomed her third baby, sweet Mabel. Fun story, Mabel was on the top of my girl name list and when I found out I was having twin girls I had decided for sure on Hattie and when I told a friend I was also considering Mabel, she suggested Hazel to keep both my babies names starting with “H” and I was sold. Although I didn’t use the name Mabel myself, I’ve always loved the name and this sweet family and baby are the perfect fit for it. Thankful for this family and their continued support over the years, having me back again and again.
Documentary At Home Father + Daughter Family Photos | Columbus, Ohio
These sort of sessions don’t come round often enough. When Bryce reached out wanting to photograph some time spent with his daughter I was thrilled. I had no idea his plans for the session, but knew he was a creative mind. When I arrived and he casually mentioned wanting to do a couple things that he and his daughter do together- making a flower bouquet and making some fresh OJ, I had to hold back a happy dance. It may sound so simple, just like he offered the ideas. But these little interactions are what make documentary style photographs real. These are the times well spent that are worth documenting.
Cuddly Motherhood Photos in Central Ohio
Amber is a dear friend of mine and I loved that she took the time to come to the Humble & Pine studio to document just her and her two babies. They were all so cuddly and easy to work with that I didn’t want the photo session to end.
Winter Beach Family Photos | Columbus, Ohio
Madeline is an amazing local wedding photographer who I’ve come to love and enjoy her family so much. She wanted some family photos before the end of the year and with a positive spirit, we opted to try for outdoor photos in the midst of winter setting into Ohio. I had this idea one day when using a local beach, alum creek. Along the beach there are old wooden signs with numbers, helping identify where you are. They had this old worn look that I was drawn to so I mentioned to Madeline that I wanted to do some more editorial maybe off posing around this sign and luckily she was all for it. It was a grey and cold day but honestly, the kids did so well and the photos turned out beautifully.
Brooks Family of Six Maternity Photos in Pataskala, Ohio
The Brooks family, currently a family of six with four adorable sons are all excited and celebrating to be welcoming a baby sister in the near future. The family, styled by myself came all in neutral, brown tones and matched the studio space, Humble & Pine, perfectly. We started the session with the whole family and then once we got enough photos we let the kids relax and play while we focused solely on mom and dad. I can’t wait to meet their new baby girl in the near future.
Fall Outdoor Newborn Family Photos in Granville, Ohio
The Montgomery family welcomed a beautiful baby boy and when mama Brooke inquired about newborn photos she suggested doing them outside, which I loved. We met at a nature reserve in Granville, and although it was October in Ohio, it was a particularly hot day, which baby boy loved but not always ideal for mom and dad. Despite the heat, the setting was beautiful and this family made it easy to photograph their family oriented newborn photos.
Lake Michigan Sunset Fall Family Photos
A dear friend of mine has a beautiful oasis of a home on Lake Michigan and she’s been kind enough to let my family stay there. This time we brought some friends and naturally I demanded they let me take some family photos of them at sunset walking along the lakes beachfront. The scenery in this part of Michigan has the perfect lake effect with rocks, water, beach and pines. If it didn’t get so cold I’d call it paradise and move up there.
Summer Sunset Family Photos Among Rolling Pastures in Central Ohio
I met Haley years ago in nursing school, it was a brief overlap, she went her way and I went mine. She eventually married a military man, lived in Virginia and raising two beautiful children. I remember watching her life from a far on social media and being blown away by photos taken when her husband came from from deployment. After that, they moved back home to Central Ohio. When Haley in inquired she suggested using her families farmland for photos where their old farm house is in the midst of being renovated. I was pleasantly surprised to see rolling pastures and various blooms. I loved how these summer sunset photos turned out and look forward to seeing their home once completed.
Last minutes of Sunset Family Photos on Captiva Island, Florida
For spring break, my family headed to Captiva Island in Florida, with the best of luck, some friends of ours were also staying on the island the same time as us, so naturally I insisted that our friends do some sunset beach photos. We all did dinner at the infamous Bubble Room and headed to the beach when everyone was done. We only had about 15 minutes left of the sun so it was a very fast paced shoot. The wind was as intense as the sun but it made for the most beautiful photos and now I want to do beach photos all the time, which is hard luck for someone who lives in Central Ohio.
