At Home Newborn Family Photos | Columbus, Ohio | Baby C
This family is a special one to me. This mama is a dear long time friend and we lived together for many years.. she was a huge part of learning the craft of photography and I’ll be forever grateful for the season of life when we were inseparable. Since those days we’ve both moved on to growing our families and I loved the excuse to spend an extra long morning with hers taking in the newest member while enjoying the ever changing and maturing personalities of her other two babes.
Sunset Beach Family Maternity Photos| 30A Florida
My family loves traveling with other families and for the second year in a row we ventured down to 30A, Santa Rosa Beach in Florida with dear friends of ours. The biggest difference from last years trip to this year was that our friends are expecting a baby and of course I insisted on doing some family/maternity photos on the beach at sunset. I don’t know about you who is reading this, but I am ready for bed early. Like 8pm. Sunset is 9pm in June, and on the beach it is truly 9pm because you watch the sunset over the horizon as opposed to a tree line or buildings, etc. Luckily even with being after mine (and this families) bedtime, everyone adventured down to the beach and was in happy spirits. Can’t wait to meet the newest addition this fall.
Homestead Family Maternity Photos | Utica, Ohio
The M Family wanted the homestead vibe for their summer sunset family photos celebrating the newest addition on the way. There is something very pulling about being barefoot in the grass and spending time with the ones closest to you. I loved the usage of our evening spent with some planned activity of hanging laundry but then roaming the property hand in hand with lots of hugs and laughs. Very excited for this family in the coming weeks to be a family of six.
Playful Family Photos | B Family | Mount Vernon, Ohio
The Baker family always bring their own fun things to do in their time in front of the camera and its usually activated that are a part of their real daily lives and this is an excellent example with their imaginative play toys. This brought laughter, fun and color to this already easy to photograph family. Would you believe this was all captured in 15 minutes during a mini session at my favorite studio, Miller Manor in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The bed scene was dedicated to my Mothers Day minis and I couldn’t be happier with the florals by Jess Lauren Florals.
My Outdoor Winter Family Photos | Alum Creek Beach, Ohio
I was inspired by my jacket. Thats where the whole idea came from. I've been know for being a hoarder of all jackets, coats, anything that layers really. Layers are your best friend in photos. They add movement, interest and texture to a simple palette. I decided for the first time to run with my love of coats and layers and went casual. Truth- I’ve never worn jeans in a photo session. Im so glad I did and overall just loved how the neutral layered outfits came together for our annual family photos. Thank you so much to my photographer friend- Judith Madrid for meeting us at the beach on a cold day.
Edits by yours truly.
In Home Newborn Photos in Central Ohio | Baby Mabel
My dear mama and photographer friend Madeline welcomed her third baby, sweet Mabel. Fun story, Mabel was on the top of my girl name list and when I found out I was having twin girls I had decided for sure on Hattie and when I told a friend I was also considering Mabel, she suggested Hazel to keep both my babies names starting with “H” and I was sold. Although I didn’t use the name Mabel myself, I’ve always loved the name and this sweet family and baby are the perfect fit for it. Thankful for this family and their continued support over the years, having me back again and again.
Last minutes of Sunset Family Photos on Captiva Island, Florida
For spring break, my family headed to Captiva Island in Florida, with the best of luck, some friends of ours were also staying on the island the same time as us, so naturally I insisted that our friends do some sunset beach photos. We all did dinner at the infamous Bubble Room and headed to the beach when everyone was done. We only had about 15 minutes left of the sun so it was a very fast paced shoot. The wind was as intense as the sun but it made for the most beautiful photos and now I want to do beach photos all the time, which is hard luck for someone who lives in Central Ohio.
